Made it back home from the National Western on Sunday night (which I was very glad I had a late flight with how my stomach felt after the post show party) and it is good to be home. Every year people get the Denver Crud, I didn’t have anything while I was there but now I am feeling it I guess. Star Lake had an awesome showing and I can not be more excited or in awe of the Star Lake program. Those guys taught me more then I know now… hopefully I will regain some of that knowledge but they really are the best of the best. But for now I will just keep working on making the SLCR site better and boy is it easy to do when the cattle are that good.
I still haven’t had the first calf of the year, I have a Lucky x Bright Future cow that was due yesterday and she doesn’t look like she is in a hurry to drop it. The calf will be sired by the Advance S109 bull and I am very excited to see what I get. The next due to calve is a Battle Ground out of a Lucky daughter. She is bred to the two-time Supreme Champion Hereford Shock & Awe. The early reports on the Shock & Awe calves from Star Lake are very exciting.
I got a quick picture to update y’all on the progress of Aria and boy is she progressing! Little girl is a chunk!
The game plan for the evening is getting the showbarn cleaned up so I can get it dirty again when I start to bring in the Expo Sale cattle later in the week… oh and by the way they look AWESOME and I can’t wait for y’all to see them!
