The Star Lake Seedstock Source Sale that was held last weekend was great as ever! It was an awesome time getting to hang-out with fellow Hereford Breeders and friends from all over the country and world.
Many things stick out but the memory that might stick out the most was when Crystal and I were talking to “Ed” who is originally from Argentina and now resides in Miami. He said that one of his favorite things since becoming a U.S. citizen is that when he comes back to the States when they say “Welcome Home” when he shows his passport. It is rather easy to forget how great our country is when all we hear anymore is how much others don’t like us. One other highlight was when David Albin from Albin Farms in Illinois told me that he would pay me to slow down with the updates on the SLCR site because no one could keep up! Thanks for the encouragement and I will slow it down a bit but it will take a pretty large check hahaha.
I got home on Sunday night and got the cattle unloaded without any big hick-ups or bumps in the road and all in all it was a very nice trip. On Monday I turned out the bull that will breed my cows. This year I have GH ADAMS GOLD NUGGET ET 378W running with the cows and I am very excited to see what the calves look like next spring! I also snapped a few quick pictures of him being turned out and some of the calves as well. Enjoy!
