Wow! What a Sale!

This past week was spent in Oklahoma getting ready for the Seedstock Source XX Sale at Star Lake Cattle Ranch. I had planned on getting an update up on here while we were down there but as typically happens I ran out of time! I was busy looking at cattle, trying to get a purchasing plan together for some of my favorite lots and took a bunch of pictures. This was the first time I have ever used a “real” camera and there is much room for improvement but these are some that I took that I liked.

One of the many fancy heifer calves to sell at the side of her momma. She is just a March baby!
This is an example of the picture in the catalog not quite doing an udder justice, which happens a lot with the 2 year-old cows that are featured in this sale as they grow and change.
We get our fair share of razzing from people saying that our cattle are just too big. Most of those people have never seen the cattle outside of a showring picture. This is National Champion Lock-N-Load… too big???
The 13th (in a row) Carload trophy that Star Lake has won at the National Western Stock Show in Denver
A picture of the beautiful Mrs. Crystal Blin. Funny thing is she is always scolding me on my “technique” sometimes I don’t look through the viewfinder thing and just snap away. Most times it doesn’t work but others (like this) it does, I’ll continue to “shoot from the hip”
And last but not least my super cool nephew Grover Barber. He has done a lot of growing up since I had seen him last and I am very happy with the dog that he has become!

All in all the cattle sold great. The people are the best. The steak and booze were both great and free. The only downsides were Crystal and I not getting anything bought and the Piano Man not knowing The Red Strokes by Garth Brooks I MEAN COME ON YOU PLAY A PIANO AND ARE FROM OKLAHOMA. He must be a Sooners fan.
